"Georgia he really wants to talk"

So, in my first blog I posted a picture of my gorgeous puppy Rufus- he is now a year old and I can't call him a puppy anymore. Anyway, I don't treat him as a dog because he's not to me he's a hairy baby!! Back in the day I used to'hate' animals in fact I wouldn't go to anyones house if they had a furry four legged friend and a year later I'm a fully fledged mental dog lover....

I don't think you can understand the 'dog owner' world until your in it. I used to think of dog owners as a different breed of human and I would have been right. You see when you're a dog owner you go to the park everyday and the people you meet there you don't know by first name but as their dogs name- ' Oh look theres Shuberts mum/dad!' You don't talk about your plans for that weekend but you'd say ' Oh Rufus has been very distressed this week so this weekend we're going to take him on a special outing!' You basically talk as though your dog is a child and effectively he is.

The last paragraph will seem strange but I think Franny I and may have taken it to the next level and I would self-diagnose that we have ' well and truly lost the plot'. Our strange behaviour includes:

  1. Buying Rufus an advent calendar and then packing it in his overnight bag when he went to stay with friends
  2. Buying Rufus more Christmas presents than we did each other and then waking up extra early on Christmas morning as we couldn't wait for him to open them
  3. Making him a Christmas dinner
  4. Throwing him birthday party
  5. Buying him a Valentines card to send to his best mate Lola (picture below...)
  6. Planning on sending him a Valentines card

Oh and one last thing, the other night Franny turned to me and said 'Georgia he really wants to talk, I could tell when I was speaking to him earlier, he just wanted to answer me!'  If anyone knows of a dog whisperer do let me know (or maybe a psychiatrist for Franny?!)

Sorry!

So I haven't blogged for a hell of a longtime, but its January and I'm going to start again!!

My lousy blogging comes down to the fact that I resigned my position as 'house manager' and I'm now back in the real working world as a PR for the lingerie brand - Ultimo (pretty fitting considering my blogs name). Anyway, I promise I won't use this a tool for free advertising for the brand, but if there is anything I feel that would be of interest I will keep you in the loop.

Anyway sorry again.......(see family Christmas photo below!!)

OH dear I have to capsualise.....

Anyone of my friends will tell you I'm anything but a tight wod however, when I decided to book my flight to Portugal this year I opted out of paying for a bag. Yes, I'm going with one of those low-budget airlines which I am usually opposed to however, I'm travelling alone and therefore don't care where I sit, it's barely a 2 and a half hour fight and it cost me 50quid in the height of the school summer holidays!! So, anyway I was completely against doubling my airfare to take on a bag which would almost definitely be over weight anyway!! But, now I'm attempting to pack a 7 day case with a bag that barely fits seven pairs of shoes let alone; 7 bikinis, 7 underwear sets, 7 evening outfits, 7 daytime outfits, 7 emergency dresses, 7 emergency bikinis and a 7 tonne toiletry bag (you get my jist I don't pack light) I'm having major issues!!! But this time I'm being brave and I'm going to pack a sensible case (which weighs 10kg...).....

I'm aiming for:

Travel outfit:

Palazzo Pants
Loub Wedges (as they are tres heavy)
White-Tshirt
Oversized Cardi...
I will also be sneaky and carry my Marc Jacobs clutch and if any ryan air shitbag tells me I'm only allowed 1 bag I will inform them it's an oversized document holder!!

What I will pack:

3 Bikinis
3 bras and 7 knickers (they will of course match as I buy multiple knickers to every bra...)
2 maxi dresses
2 pairs of shorts
4 vests
2 jersey dresses
1 pair of sandals
1 pair of flip flops
2 summer t-shirts
All washed down with some rings, necklaces and perhaps a flowery head garland!!

Lucky for me I'm visiting a family villa so I needn't worry about lotions and potions which I'm hoping will help me with the weight restrictions...

Anyway I will post pictures of me frolicking in my capsualised holiday wardrobe and let you know how many extra outfits I had to buy and how many extra kilos I came home with....

Peace out, I hate CAPSUALISING! (I bet Abbey C doesn't have these dramas...)

Sorry.....

Just want to say a big SORRY that I haven't been blogging for a while. I went on an extended holiday and have just moved into a new flat which doesn't have the internet. I will be back blogging next week when the kind man from BT brings me back into the 21st century...

Ugg vs Emu

Now, they don't lie when they* say it rains a huge amount in the land of Scot and as a result my long term relationship with 6 inch heels is going through a rocky patch!! As no girl wants to be seen sinking into the mud whilst walking their pooch I have had to look for some practical footwear....

Now, back in the day I used to slip on my UGG boots to pop out and about on a depressing day however, as anyone who's been caught in the rain in UGG boots will know you come home with rather soggy feet!! And then, I found EMU boots......

Emu boots come from the home of the UGG boot -Australia, however unlike the UGG brand these boots are waterproof (no soggy feet for me!!). The boots have been made by top quality sheepskin meaning they repel water and don't stain- what could be better for a dog walking boot....

The experiment

1. EMU boot before water...

2. Tipping water on the boot...

3. Boots after...

VOILA... go chuck away the UGG boots and jump on the EMU bandwagon!!

Bitchy comment: I also, very much dislike people wearing UGG boots now I mean I'm sure these boots are WAY past their sell by date and as they can't even be worn for practical tasks they are utterly pointless and a tad on the chavy spectrum! I feel Emu boots are the classier, practical boot of choice!!

*they meaning people in general

Boux Avenue underwear

I recently discovered new underwear chain Boux Avenue. As a self confessed underwear addict I thought I had stepped halfway to heaven when I stumbled across this store whilst shopping in the Buchanan galleries in Glasgow.

The store is a refreshing change to their rather dated competition La Senza (the Glasgow outlet is actually slap next door!!)the store has a clean yet glamourous feel all kitted out in pink and black while the staff are dressed smartly in black pencil dresses. When I first walked into the underwear haven I was greeted by a perfectly groomed sales assistant who gave me a sample of their white chiffon hand cream ( RRP: £5 http://www.bouxavenue.com/white-chiffon-hand-cream-75ml-white/602201-10wh) which I feel set the tone for what I can only describe as a smooth shopping experience.

The underwear sets are hung beautifully around the store and you can find your size in the neat draws below the display. They were offering free matching knickers with any bra (how perfect for me!!) purchased, a top tip of mine is to always buy 2 or 3 pairs of briefs to any bra, that way you can wear your favourite bra two days in a row and generally bras last longer.

The staff are what really make this store stand out, they are; friendly, glamourous and knowledgeable. The brand has certainly thought hard into its customer service which rival the likes of luxury lingerie stores such as La Perla and Agent Provocateur. Even online they have created a section to help Gents chose the perfect ensemble for the lady in their life. http://www.bouxavenue.com/lingerie-buying-guide-for-men

Anyway!! I think you get the gist.... I blooming love this store go there, it's great!!!
